adidas Forum with Oda Studios

In recent weeks and months, the adidas Forum has been returning to its stardom from past days, celebrating its almost 40-year strong history, the "highs and lows" make a comeback to the big stage. Artfully remixed with a series of new and original colorways, the staple retro basketball shoe from the three stripes has "been there and done that" and continues to influence the influence. And while we are already there, GOATS like MJ have been sporting the sneaker when it first dropped back in 1984 (yes, there was a time before the Swoosh), making it a favorable silhouette on and off the court. Checking all the historical boxes, the Jacques Chassaing-designed ankle strap-sporting adidas Forum sneaker looks to a bright off-the-court future offering its trademark look and timeless appeal for today's tastemakers and groundbreakers. Such as ODA STUDIOS. Together with the boundary-pushing recording collective for women and trans people, we highlight the adidas Forum. Just like "the Forum," ODA STUDIOS provides a safe place for everyone, welcoming artists that often feel left out and now have a place to come and create right in the heart of Stockholm.

BARBARA

SNS: Who are you?

I am a songwriter, producer, artist, DJ and sound engineer who loves everything that has to do with sound and silence! I also work with a number of organizations that work for a more inclusive music industry such as "who can become a producer", "turning tables" and of course Oda.

What do you do in the music industry and how was the interest born?

The interest started when I took piano lessons when I was 12 years old and realized that I did not want to play other people's songs, but write my own. It took a while to understand that it was actually possible to have it as a dream, but today I freelance as a producer, sound engineer and release music under "CHAMOON".

How did you get in touch with ODA?

Selen and I started Oda in 2017 when we lacked a common place to create music, develop and work towards a more equal music industry. You could say its a Forum to breathe for all of us.

What does it mean to be part of a collective of like-minded people?

I would never have managed to keep up the freelance life I have today if it were not for Oda. The people, the enthusiasm, the experience and the drive I am embraced by every day are what make me want and be able to continue. I hope we can inspire more people to create new own forums.

EVELINA

SNS: Who are you?

I am a producer, songwriter, and sound engineer. Living in Stockholm but Umeå is home <3

What do you do in the music industry and how was the interest born?

I produce and write with artists and writers who I think do cool things and who inspire me. I want to give other people a lot of feelings and experiences. I live my life with butterflies in my stomach and creating in the studio allows me to get it all! I mostly do pop music and hip hop, with the intention of always doing things that make me want to dance and / or cry. How my interest in music was "born" I can not really answer, it's just something that has always been there, as a need more than an interest really haha. And probably will always do so.

How did you get in touch with Oda?

I have always written and played instruments, but when I first started producing, I had no women around me who did the same thing. And I was relatively new to Stockholm, so I really felt the need for community and context, thats when I found Oda - which was everything I wanted and a little more!

What does it mean to be part of a collective of like-minded people?

Knowing that you have so much competence and creativity around you is incredible. Both for the feeling of security, but also for my own development. There is always someone to play ball with if you are stuck or who can teach you something you could not before, so being a part of Oda has given me a lot.

SELEN

SNS: Who are you?

Music producer, songwriter and singer from Stockholm.

What do you do in the music industry and how was the interest born?

I produce and write music mainly for other artists in pop, but have a background in jazz and also work with film music and sound design, and run Oda of course!

How did you get in touch with Oda?

Barbara and I founded Oda Studios 2017 because we wanted to gather all our creative friends under one roof.

What does it mean to be in a collective with like-minded people?

Being in that community is everything. It is so inspiring to be surrounded by creators with different skills and special areas. We support, encourage and learn from each other!

MIRIAM

SNS: Who are you?

I'm a Virgin Miri producer, songwriter and artist. Born on the countryside and raised in the city and I live for pop music.

What do you do in the music industry and how was the interest born?

For the most part, I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. But I trust the universe that I will find the right one if I follow my intuition. I have been writing songs for as long as I can remember and it's the best feeling when a song knocks on the door, it is my desire to help it out into the world. Right now I write mostly for myself but also for others. At midsummer this year, I released my debut EP "Pop My Cherry". Much of my focus is also on the visual aspect of music creation such as editing music videos and creating visual universes for the music to live in.

How did you get in touch with ODA?

Through my friend Rebecca Bergcrantz (Raindear) who helped start ODA back in the day. Before I had a studio at ODA, I was there for parties, gigs and lectures.

What does it mean to be part of a collective of like-minded people?

In my previous studio, people smoked indoors and peed with the door open. At ODA, everything works, the atmosphere is very open and inviting. Everyone is fantastically talented and no one questions one's knowledge due to one's gender. It strengthens my self-confidence daily to feel at home and be inspired.
