Nike Air Max 95 "Sketch With The Past"

The canvas for future black mark makers

Throughout the years, while many overlooked the Nike Air Max 95, the iconic sneaker was a tastemaker on the streets. Initially made for running and performance, the “95s” got its significance on the streets and tracks, but not running tracks. Heavily championed by GRIME in the UK and black youth culture, Nike Air Max 95 is a community favourite that, since its inception, has overcome the hurdle of an invisible trainer and become a sneaker right in the spotlight of fashion culture. This year, Nike celebrates Black History Month with a unique shoe experience that combines the story of the Air Max 95 and the ongoing struggle of black people to get the recognition they deserve. Nike and SNS set the spotlight on today’s black change makers and provide them with the tools to create meaningful change for future black icons and their communities. One of them is Kam-bu, the South West Londoner who is a rising star in the music scene, making a change in his community while rocking the Nike Air Max 95 ”Sketch With The Past”

The Nike Air Max 95 x Future Movements pays homage to black artists that fight repressive systems and highlight the importance of community and joy. Crafted with Tyvek material, the sneaker can be customized with a pen that is included in the package to create your own history and push boundaries.
